1.1 Background of the Study
Youth restiveness, characterized by disruptive behaviors such as violence, protests, and delinquency, is a persistent issue in many communities. In Nigeria, socio-economic challenges like unemployment, poverty, and lack of educational opportunities exacerbate youth restiveness, particularly in areas like Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State (Adewale & Ibrahim, 2023). Films, as a form of mass communication, have emerged as powerful tools for addressing societal issues, offering narratives that educate, inspire, and promote behavioral change. Nollywood and regional filmmakers have increasingly focused on creating stories that depict the consequences of restiveness and the value of peaceful coexistence (Garba & Usman, 2024). These films, infused with relatable characters and culturally resonant themes, have the potential to influence young audiences positively. This study investigates the role of films in reducing youth restiveness in Doma, examining their effectiveness in promoting dialogue, empathy, and constructive engagement.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Youth restiveness poses a significant threat to social stability and economic development in Doma Local Government Area. Efforts to address the issue often focus on policy interventions and community programs, but the role of films as a medium for behavioral change is underexplored (Abubakar & Olayemi, 2023). While films have been shown to influence attitudes and behavior, the extent to which they address the root causes of restiveness, such as unemployment and lack of education, is unclear. This study seeks to bridge this gap by examining how films can contribute to reducing youth restiveness in Doma.

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study is limited to the role of films in reducing youth restiveness in Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. It focuses on film narratives and their influence on youth behavior, excluding other media forms or interventions.
